Should I Stay on Disney Property?

To stay on Disney property or off Disney property? This is often a difficult decision. I hear many mixed answers. I often hear experienced Disney goers saying, “you must stay on property to get the full Disney experience.” I’ll also hear others saying “you will save money if you stay off property.” Let’s take a deeper look at the benefits of staying on Disney property.

I personally love staying and being in the Disney Bubble. What is the Disney Bubble? It’s actually a phenomenon that means different things to different people. Once you get into that “Disney Bubble” there is no need to go anywhere outside of Disney. You physically enter the Disney Bubble and things change. You’re just HAPPY-most of the time! It’s why people continue to visit Disney World time and time again.

There is a resort that will fit everyone’s needs and just about anyone’s budget This is an integral part of the “Disney Bubble.” There are five Value Resorts on the Disney property. These resorts are perfect for children and for the vacationer who would like to save and still experience the Disney magic. There are four Disney Moderate Resorts. We usually stay at a Moderate Resort because of the fifth sleeper option. Disney also has beautiful Deluxe Resorts. The Deluxe Resort locations are fantastic. Not to mention the luxury!

The number ONE benefit of staying on Disney Property is the complimentary Disney Transportation. The Magical Express picks you up at the airport (and takes you back to the airport) and drives you to your resort. This is where the “Disney Bubble” begins in my opinion. There is no need for carseats! And there is no need for driving! Depending on the resort you choose, there will be different transportation options which could include; buses, the monorail, sky-liners, ferries, and boats! Oh the convenience!

Staying in the Disney Bubble has so many benefits! There are many events planned at the resorts. Movie Under the Stars is one of our family’s favorite activities. The resorts have a different Disney movie playing “under the stars” throughout the month. Some resorts even throw a little pixie dust and have dance parties or campfires after the movie. Other activities include arts and craft projects, Disney Junior themed pool parties, games, miniature golf, contests, yoga, fishing, and more! This is one reason why I suggest planning a resort-no park day!

All the Disney Pools are fantastic in the Disney Bubble. Keep in mind that all resorts have multiple pools, and you can pool hop all you want at your home resort. The amenities are superb.

Another benefit to staying on property is advance reservations. All Disney guests can make dining reservations 60 days in advance. You can also snag your park reservations. Reservations are limited and availability can change.

If you have young children a HUGE benefit of staying on property is nap time at the resort. The resorts are all relatively close to the parks. It’s very easy to head back to the resort for a couple hours of rest time. You can reenter the parks refreshed and ready to go!

We can’t forget about the phenomenal Cast Members that make your Disney experience extra special. They will go above and beyond to make your stay fantastic. They always go above and beyond. The Cast Members bring the story to life! Disney’s customer service is unlike any I’ve every experienced.

If you think staying off property is a lot cheaper, I think you might be surprised. When you factor in the parking fees, gas, time, and convenience the cost difference is negligible.

I hope this has been helpful in making your decisions to experience the Disney Bubble. It is obviously not a one-size fits all type of situation. I believe the full Disney experience comes with staying on property. I hope you have an amazing vacation whatever you choose!

See ya real soon!
